Adam House 2024: A Year in Review

As the year comes to a close, we reflect on all that has been accomplished at Adam House in 2024. This year, we welcomed 88 residents, including 14 children and 3 youth – two of whom arrived as unaccompanied minors. Residents came from a variety of countries, including:

Afghanistan: 1

Liberia: 3

Cameroon: 1

Malawi: 5

Colombia: 2

Mexico: 5

Democratic Republic of Congo: 3

Nigeria: 2

Eritrea: 1

Pakistan: 1

Ethiopia: 53

Sierra Leone: 1

India: 1

Sudan: 1

Iran: 1

The Gambia: 2

Kenya: 4

Yemen: 1

In response to the growing need for support, Adam House expanded its capacity from 41 beds to 52 with the opening of two new transitional apartments located at Yonge & St. Clair. These additional spaces allow us to provide safe and stable housing to more newcomers as they rebuild their lives in Canada.

We also celebrated two new births while their families were at Adam House, and we witnessed the weddings of three very recent residents.

Every resident's journey is unique, and we are honored to play a part in creating a supportive community where newcomers can thrive. Thank you to our partners, donors, volunteers, and staff for making this growth possible. Together, we continue to provide hope and a home to those seeking refuge.
